Arab Envoys in Nairobi Unite To Advocate For Palestinian Rights And Peace

Arab ambassadors based in Kenya have pledged support for a united front in defence of the rights and welfare of the Palestinian people.

In order to issue a joint statement reiterating their support for the Palestinian cause and urging immediate international action to address the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the envoys, who represented a wide range of Arab countries, met at the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Nairobi.

The forum emphasised the need to protect Palestinians’ rights, emphasising their right to self-determination and the creation of an independent, sovereign state based on the pre-June 4, 1967 boundaries with East Jerusalem as its designated capital.

The diplomats underscored emphasised the need to work towards a just and durable peace, firmly affirming the two-state solution as the most prudent course of action to maintain regional stability and the welfare of its states and citizens.

The growing violence and the potentially disastrous implications it could have on society deeply concerned the diplomats.

The declaration was made in response to Resolution No. 8987, which was adopted by the Council of the League of Arab States during a special ministerial conference called to combat Israeli aggression and choose a path towards peace and security in the region.

The proclamation reiterates important ideas, such as the necessity of an immediate end to hostilities. The Arab Ambassadors demand that Israel immediately cease all military operations in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings. They stress the risky humanitarian and security repercussions of a protracted conflict and call on all sides to exhibit prudence.

The Ambassadors severely denounced the most recent acts of aggression and rights violations. They also denounced the abuses the Palestinian people continue to experience under Israeli rule.

Additionally, they demanded that the siege on Gaza be lifted so that food, fuel, and humanitarian supplies may reach Gaza without restriction.

“We stress the crucial role of international organisations, particularly UNRWA, in providing indispensable support during this critical juncture,” the ambassadors said.

Additionally, they are urging for the pursuit of a Just Peace, insisting on the creation of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 lines, coexisting peacefully with Israel in accordance with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The Ambassadors also favour reviving the Peace Process and starting serious talks between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO). They issue warnings about possible consequences of the absence of real political chances for peace.

“This unified declaration accentuates the unwavering support of the Arab diplomatic community for the Palestinian cause and the compelling need for global action to address the ongoing crisis in the region,” according to the statement.

“It stands as a testament to the dedication of Arab nations to pursue a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, guided by universally recognized principles and accords.
